Show you're a halfbaker by buying a plush, stuffed half-croissant, the symbol of the HalfBakery. Proudly display your propensity for the inspired and unusual by keeping one of these in your cubicle or office.
Obviously, the URL, www.halfbakery.com should appear somewhere on this stuffed toy,
so curious coworkers can see why the heck you keep fake food around.
Optional: Add one of the non-lame taglines for uniqueness. Specify your favorite one (perhaps one you may have actually contributed yourself), or opt for a randomly selected one, to be chosen by [jutta] (or whoever processes the order) for a little self-surprise.

[half]'s tagline list, archived

Would the virgin Mary be apparent in the crust? |
This croissant plush should be made of "halfbaked" dough. That would be cool! |
Can I have a fishbone instead, please? |
I want to build an army of plush fishbones to battle the plush croissant legion! |
I'll keep saying it, [k_sra],it ain't Mary, it's Judy.
//breaks into spontaneous song//"Somewhere, over the croissant, weigh a pie..... |
Hmm...I have an idea...and a sewing machine...now if I can just find some time... |
We should contact Gund corp on this one. |
This is the first time I ever wished I had a cubicle. |
I would get several of these (I swear!) and hang them everywhere. |
How about a half-croissant-shaped hammock? I think that would pretty clearly explain what we're all about here. |
And I didn't know we could submit taglines!! Where do I sign up? |
This would be a feature item at the Halfbakery Outlet store near the holidays. |
Fishbone toast rack please. And a furry half croissant banana holder. |
[waugs]: I accidentally deleted your link. Can you please repost. I'm so sorry. I mis-clicked. (Is that a word?) |
Actually, no I can't. S'okay though. |
"Hmm...I have an idea...and a sewing machine...now if I can just find some time..." |
Time found.
[half]baked. With a little, ok, a lot of help from [better half]. |
That link don't work for me :/ |
[half], you baked up something
crazy, didn't you? I'm impressed.
Creative little twist with the
fishbone, btw. Can I have one that
says "Tip your server" ? |
Second link added for [Detly] to try.
(Also fixed some very wrong html. There may be more.) |
Heh. Nah, that would have been way too clever for me. |
I've revamped the page a bit. Added another photo to show some sense of scale. |
It may be smaller than expected. I was going for life-size. |
Unit #1 was shipped today. The (un?)fortunate and unwitting recipient should be seeing it 2 to 3 days. |
Looks beseechingly at [half] |
What would you like in exchange? A beaded lizard? A cuddly wombat? |
I've got oodles of lizards where I live, though none beaded. What's a cuddly wombat? |
[madradish] - might I suggest a coin pouch made from a kangaroo's scrotum? (I was utterly amazed to find these in a souvenier shop I wandered into near Town Hall yesterday evening...) |
ok, [mad]. The halfbaker Prime approves. I'll get back with you on the trade. No 'roo bits, please. |
All 3 orders shipped Saturday morning.
[half]bakery closed, [half]baker retired.
Enjoy your croissants or fishbones as the case may be. |
Still taking orders [half]? |
yeah, i would love one, [half] if you are up to trading something with me..??
please?? ;) |
Got mine yesterday. Cute little bugger! Whole-hearted thanks to [half] and wife of [half] for making my halfbaked halfbakery half-croissant a reality. |
[baby],[silver]: I'm not sure whether I'll make any more. |
If I do any more, I'll have to streamline a couple of things and they'll have to be a simpler stuffed version with a croissant on one side and fishbone on the other and none of the turny-insidey-outey business. |
On the upside, that version could replace the coin as a decision making tool, or act as a mood indicator hanging outside your cubicle doorway. |
If anyone is interested in that version, shoot me an e-mail. I may be able to come up with a small quantity of those over the next few months. |
My chief seamstress is up to her eyeballs in alligators at her real job right now. I'd sew them myself...if she'd let me anywhere near her fancy-schmancy machine...and if she'd teach me how she makes the final necessarily-hand-stitched bit not look like hand stitching (not even visible, actually). |
To those of you who requested them, they were put in the mail today. U.S. folks should see them in a week maybe. U.K. folks, I dunno. (See link if you just can't bear to wait to see what they look like) |
They're not as twisted as the first version, but they do have a redeeming new feature. |
Does this mean you're ready to start production of batch 3? (signs up on list) |
[ghillie], I tried to reach you by e-mail. One of your addresses bounced, and I got no reply from the other. |
I just recieved mine, [half]! Thank you so very much! It will certainly be with me on race days! |
<scratches chin> Now just what to send in return ... |
[k_sra], if you send me your mailing address and favorite official halfbakery tagline (if any, I can select one for you otherwise as I have acquired the actual list), I'll put you on the list. |
With [ghillie] gone incommunicado, or blocking my e-mails as spam, the list is quite short. |
Heh. She wouldn't think that about the new ones. I like the new ones much better. I especially like how the customized tag design turned out. If I could have one, I'd want the second generation. |
You're paying the price for being an early adopter. |
I just took a look at the Mark II version and I am oh, so jealous. They are very nice, [half]. Are you guys charging yet? I think these should available for ordering via the t-shirt page of the hb. |
I want one. How much are they? |
There is no T-shirt page on the HB as this is a strictly non-commercial site. It has moved to another web site. See [PinkDrink]'s link. |
There is a HB T-shirt page. I posted the link. |
don't we do t-shirts any more? makes sense though... |
[po]You mean you can't get the shirts anymore? :( |
Unbelievable. Why didn't I think of this, and how did I miss this thread for so long? Um, sign me up, [half], although I haven't a clue as to how you would have been being compensated by my fellow bakers/2. And if you're doing taglines, make mine "Vini. Vidi. Excoxi." |
If anyone would like a plush half-croissant, send me an email with your mailing address, halfbakery name and your chosen halfbakery tagline. (International shipping has not been a problem) |
The deal is, I make your custom plush, send it to you and then you send something of your choosing in return. |
(see link for tagline list) |
Okay. I need to choose a tagline now, and think up something equally as good to send back to you. :) |
[half], did you receive cool stuff from the other bakers yet? |
[k_sra], my total receipts for this entire operation are:
1 robot, received from S.H.
1 paratrooper, received from S.H.
1 B.S. brass monkey button, received from S.H. |
[po], thanks for reminding me. I put those away in my sock drawer to save them for the summer and it's definitely summer now. |
That "S. H." deserves a medal! I tell you what. : ) |
Sorry, I can't divulge my clients' identities. If you need a name, just substitute "Super Hottie" where you see "S.H." We aren't personally acquainted so I can't say for sure, but S.H. probably wouldn't mind being called that. |
Did you get a plush, [po]? I don't remember. If so, you have my address and could send me things, too. Come to think of it, I'll give you my address if you want to send me lavish gifts just for the heck of it. ;) |
Looks like the last list was lost:
I also got bats from B.Z. (not "bz") and and a CD from C.S. |
Oh I am glad to hear that... |
Mhmm, bats. A silver & turquoise style bat pin. A bat magnet. Wanna bat postcard? I think I still have your address here somewhere... |
The bat paraphenalia was purchased from a bat conservancy type group. B.Z. is also helping to protect the bat population by erecting a bat habitat in the back yard. Cool. |
And, from EM, some prints of Mayan and Aztec art on what appears to be handmade paper. |
Them's some mighty fine plush donuts ya got there, [jutta]. |
Yet another satisfied customer reported in a few days ago as having received the package in London. All in the last batch were mailed from here on the same day. |
...Naughty Bits from C.G. |
in the BEST POSSIBLE taste <crosses hairy legs> |
Yep, I'm the proud owner of said Plush Half-Croissant. |
All I need now is for someone to send me a digital camera and a stamp addressed envelope so that I may take a photo. |
So I've got the initial prototype - the one with the nifty inside-out feature - and also the later model - the two-sided pillow-shape - both sitting on my desk, here, at work. An intrigued coworker of mine (who happens to have a lovely British accent) wandered over one day and asked me why I have "socks" sitting on my desk. |
Well, of course, I sent him a link to this page and explained a bit about this great website of ours, but I must laugh at the all-too-appropriate analogy to socks. Without having a clue about what silliness goes on here, socks came to mind, just by looking at my Plush Half-Croissants. How telling. |
Finally, technology has caught up with my laziness. I finally got the idea to remember that I have the tool to take a photo of my croissants at work - my cell phone. Enjoy viewing the reality of these cute plush HB croissants at my new link. Sorry this took years. |
Yay, they weather well after all this time, I varnished mine. |
