This would be a barrette shaped sort of like a semicircle, that fastens hair tightly and spreads it out into a flat fan shape. This accessory would work best with straight hair that is average or greater thickness, because of its tendency to be unbending. However, creative girls with various types
of hair, like waves or curls, can try it out as well, for exciting, new, original looks.
If hair is long, the clip would attach near the ends of hair (from 6-10 inches from the ends) to prevent longer hair from weighing down the style. Take up any slack in longer hair by attaching the clip, with it's gripping grabby teeth, to the base of a ponytail or other gathered style.
For shorter hair, simply attach clip near base of ponytail to create fan shape.

Sorta Fanned Hair
http://www.hairbout...com/tips/tip949.htm The 1st and 3rd photos on this page have some fanned hair in the styles, but my clip would do this more easily and more neatly. [XSarenkaX, Oct 09 2002, last modified Oct 04 2004]

Sparki, where you been? <hugs>
welcome back. |

Whatever Sparki's deal was, please don't judge my ideas based on hers. (Sparki's a girl, right?) |

Anyway, a quick look at my ideas will assure you I try to span categories. |

A visual aide would help here, but I realize if you could provide a picture it would mean it's baked. But could it be made with the look of an actual peacock's tail? I would like that a lot. Having my own hair standing out like peacock plumage, is a bit less appealing to me. |

its quite fashionable over here to tie your hair up and have a little fan shape sticking out. sorry my description is awful. if its not the case in the US, you are quite the trendsetter XS. |
[po]: I think you're talking about the recently popularized trend of clipping hair up with jaw clips and letting the ends stick up and out of the clip. (I'll try to find a picture and post a link of someone with this 'do.) I'm talking about going one step further and having the hair fan out neatly and securely. |
Maybe you girls should try a more feminine 'do, the close-cropped, peahen fan tail? |
Who you callin "girls", farmer? Wese womenfolk to you. |
But wese is ok? Gosh caught me looking in the opposite direction on that one. |

Absolutely stunning, [XsX]. I love that link. Imagine with a simple ivory satin floor length gown. |

[Jezzie]: (RE: Londo link) Um, no. (?) |
