I'm tired of spending 20-30 minutes getting my mohawk into liberty spikes and getting it skyward. I propose a gallows for us mohawk owners.
For those of you who may not be up to speed punk style, a "liberty spike" is a hair style that resembles the spikes adorning the noggin of our dear 'ol Lady
Liberty - the Statue of Liberty (see pic). Now as a one-man operation, this can take quite a bit if you only have yourself and not a lot of skill (like me). So lets get something from the ceiling to help us (me) out.
Firstly, construct a gallows. Plastic, balsa wood, or steel can be used. Of course is needs to be scaled down as to fit in your room, bathroom, cubicle, home, etc. Next comes the rope. The twine needs to fairly thin, or small gauge in order not to mangle the tips of the spike. Next is the noose. Knots probably won't do because you're going to have to undo that in order to leave you room, bathroom, house, without looking like you just got into a serious spat with a sewing circle.
The over all goal is to have a device which holds hair at the desired angle, and tension to form a nice spike while you can apply your choice of hair-stay product. When you're done you can fold it in to a closed, right next to the tread mill you never use.

Desired result.

I can see where this would be wanted.
My hair stands up on its own, however.

The gallows description is a bit morbid for what this actually is. That said, I can see this being useful, and bun it. |
|
|
I envision this more like raising a framed wall: string out those spikes and use a pulley from the opposite ear to raise the lot of them straight up. |
|
|
How about a device you can wear on your head? That way you can use your treadmill while you spike. |

[Fort], I can't vote for this until you link us a picture of you in full 'hawk splendor. |
|
|
fort, you don't need this stuff - you are just lovely as yourself... |

Never mind a picture of his mohawk, I want a picture of his mohawk after helmet removal. (+) |

I never pictured fortman with a mohawk. Or Lady Liberty for that matter. Then again, I have a hard time picturing just about anyone with a mohawk. |

I think we should make it our national hairstyle. Many thanks to the Huron people for being the first punk rockers and shocking the French. |

I much prefer mohicans. Mohawks just don't have that daring and noble compromise factor of fully committing yourself to the haircut like the mohican does. |

Let's just be thankful he doesn't sport a mullet. |
