A little oojamaflip that registers the amount you are sweating during exercise via stick on electrodes that measure conductivity and give you an intermittant read out (display worn on wrist) of how much fluid/sodium/sugars and trace minerals you need to replace.

Numerous amateur and professional sportswo/men die through hyponatremia (water intoxication) or dehydration every year due to overcompensating for fluid lost through sweating or for undercompensating.

Although I think this could be useful in many situations (physical labour in hot environments etc), it could unfortunately probably be best marketed for the sportswo/men of the "15 minute, bit of a jog in expensive gym wearing designer sports gear" persuasion. Definately much more flash than a mouldy old water bottle.

A very interesting tale of being stricken by extreme sodium loss. Very nasty. Complete with a really annoying DHTML running man. [bristolz, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004]

In your case [DN], I'll assume that you live on a farm and enjoy watching your chickens scratching in the dirt. The other possible reading of this statement is just too fantastical to be considered (and that thing *really* shouldn't be mouldy y'know).

Well, I have to admit, there *is* something about those chickens that really strikes my fancy...
