Actually, in a conventional helicopter, the tail rotor is only there to stop the helicopter body rotating, Newton's laws requiring the rotor and helicopter body to have the same rotational momentum. So, if the rotational momentum of the rotor/orrery is made to be zero then no tail rotor is needed. This can be done by having the main rotor rotate clockwise, but the planets and the orbits of their moons rotating anticlockwise. |
