When one goes for an operation, there will be assorted base colors to chose from. Keep in mind which room you plan to use this in, and choose your color wisely.....should go well with RED. The colored sheet of fabric will be placed under you as you undergo the operation. Tell the doctors and nurses to feel free to sign their names and write funny or otherwise comments, to add to your Personalized Tablecloth. When the operation is over, just hang the cloth to dry and your souvenir is ready to take home and use. (No need to sanitize- it's your own blood)

Baked, more or less http://www.freedive.../thedayigotspeared/
Or maybe marinated is more appropriate. See the final paragraph of the story [normzone, Nov 19 2005]

//(No need to sanitize- it's your own blood)//

Gross, gross, gross! My blood or not, it is blood all the same. What about when it dries? Or if the police came to talk about that minor traffic accident you were in and saw that?

Have them sterilyze it and dye it with fake blood.

You will get more positive votes.

Well, I guess people (some people) keep their placentas. But I wouldn't vote for that, either.

po: I guess the precise ownership is open to dispute, but yeah. Some people even go on to eat it (see link).

This is interesting. Probably for a small subset of people.

It's possible that the hospital might let you keep this anyway, if you ask. They let me keep my old suture needles from when I got stitches for this, that, and the other thing. And my dentist let me keep the cast of my mouth that he used to make my crown.
