Omninoculars
Magic viewing devices now possible using existing technology? | |
Magic Omninoculars - the name (and the idea) is straight from Harry Potter, only there they are magic devices designed and created by wizards. The size and shpe of conventional binoculars these devices allow instant replays and amazing zooming and are designed for sports events.
Technological Omninoculars
- basically two small video cameras strapped together in the shape of binoculars. The size and shpe of conventional binoculars these devices allow instant replays and amazing zooming and are designed for sports events.
Features included: Low light sensitivity, short term (2-3minutes) recording to buffer memory for replays, optical zoom, digital zoom, video out (for recoding longer items), electronic anti-shake.
Features left out: Recording to tape/CD/DVD (too costly on size and batteries).
Optional features: External battery pack and/or recorder (cable runs up neck strap then down to belt mounted battery pack/recorder), image enhancement algorithms, ball trajectory overlays, bluetooth onscreen scoreboard, bluetooth radio commentry, stills photography onto memory card.

There's something similar to this already baked, but not to the extent of your idea - a pair of digital bino's with a digital camera built in to the middle, low megapixel rating, but high zoom. It doesn't do movies to my knowledge. |
