Should old annotations be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should old annotations be forgot,
And days of old punch line?
And days of old punch line, my dear,
And days of old punch line.
Should old annotations be forgot,
And days of punch line?
We twa hae run
aboot the bakes
And pu'd the fishbones fine.
We've pondered mony a teary hoot,
Seen punch line.
Seen punch line, my dear,
Seen punch line,
We've pondered mony a teary hoot,
Seen old punch line.
We twa hae sported i' the bun,
From morning sun till dine,
But laughs between hair-brains hae roared
Seen old punch line.
Seen old punch line, my dear,
Seen old punch line.
But laughs between hair-brains hae roared
Seen old punch line.
And ther's a hand, my clocky friend,
And gie's a hand o' thine;
We'll Sippy Cup o' kindness yet,
For old punch line.
For old punch line, my dear,
For old punch line,
We'll Sippy Cup o' kindness yet,
For old punch line.

No - that's not right. When you sing the Rabbie Burns original, you're supposed to degenerate into inane mumbling after the first verse as nobody knows the words. Shirley any lyrics written in homage to the Scottish Poet should do the same. Oh, it did. |
