The Nu-Alexandrian Library is a public lending library that is self-funded.
Funding comes from three sources, one is the cafe which sells coffees and scroll foods, which are flat bread with a filling, rolled up and made to look vaguely like scrolls.
The other income stream is from the Nu-Alexandrian
Library clock, which is mechanical clock shaped like the Alexandrian Library. When a coin in dropped into the slot, smoke appears to come from it and little librarians scurry out with scrolls.
Thirdly, a gift shop, which a selection of lighters, boxes of matches, incense sticks and disposable barbecues emblazoned with the slogan "That Alexandrian library, it's so hot!" and other borderline amusing sayings.
