Non-pornographic nude space movie

Logical, Captain...

The interiors of spacecraft are highly controlled environments and can be adjusted to meet the whims of the occupants.

This makes clothing for anything other than technical reasons (protection from chemicals, physical abrasion, radiation etc.) superfluous.

The concept is therefore to make a serious dramatic movie where the performers are typically unclothed, not for any reason of sexuality but simply because in that environment clothing is not needed.

Some caution would be needed in casting as the majority of humans look better when covered up.

       //protection from chemicals, physical abrasion, radiation // ; place to put your phaser, hammer, cellphone ; temperature regulation.

       So, the premise would be a hot location where the humans don't actually do anything.
FlyingToaster, Nov 03 2019

       // place to put your phaser, hammer, cellphone ; temperature regulation. //

       Inside a ship, temperature regulation shouldn't be an issue. Yes, toolbelts etc., and probably footwear. A belt or some sort of padded harness, like military combat webbing would suffice.

       This seems like a rather creepy way to watch naked people. Moreovermore, I think people in general prefer to wear clothes since (a) most people are somewhat modest, even amongst close friends and colleagues. This is why, for example, most offices are not clothing-optional (b) normal clothing provides sufficient mechanical and thermal protection against day-to-day encounters with the physical world (c) if you're going to wear enough belts and pouches to replace a regular set of clothes, why not just wear clothes? and (d) as you noted, most humans are better when covered up; nor do I want to see even a fit bloke floating and dangling in zero-G.

       //..probably footwear.//
Why? I've always thought barefoot would be better in zero-g. Toes to hold on, manoeuvre (huh, Google Chrome couldn't spell "manoeuvre") about the place, even hold things on occasion. (Disclaimer: I'm a climber (trees, rocks, whatever) and my feet are quite prehensile.)
neutrinos_shadow, Nov 03 2019

       Given that many species have had prehensile tails and feet for millions of years, it's surprising how few of them have evolved to become hensile.
MaxwellBuchanan, Nov 03 2019

       You proceed from a false assumption. Human skin sheds cells at the rate of 30 to 90 milligrams per hour. Squamously, that's up to 5000 m^2 per day. It also exudes solid, liquid, and gaseous excreta consisting of thousands of different chemical species - many, even most, currently not identified.

       Also, there's the fact that physical well-being in microgravity requires a fairly large amount of exercise to retain bone and muscle mass. This is hampered by the reciprocation of unrestrained anatomical parts, may be painful by way of recurrent impact, or dangerous by lack of precise control for balance.

       Before you claim you look fine without exercising, allow us to beg you not show your - er, evidence.
lurch, Nov 03 2019

       //up to 5000 m^2 per day// Uh, OK, you're telling me that the average person sheds 5000 square metres of skin per day?

       I think not. If it's ~100mg/hr (which is possible), that equates to about 0.25 square metres, if arranged in a layer 1 cell thick.

       We didn't say anything about free-fall. You could have the same environmental conditions on a submarine.

       Sorry?! Come again?!
Dub, Nov 03 2019

       // We didn't say anything about free-fall. You could have the same environmental conditions on a submarine.// Ah, right. I thought the reference to "space movie" in the title and "spacecraft" in the idea text meant something to do with space and/or spacecraft.
MaxwellBuchanan, Nov 03 2019

       Just because you're in space doesn't mean you have to put up with the inconvenience of free-fall, unless you're lazy and stupid ... oh, yeah, humans, right ...
8th of 7, Nov 03 2019

       True, I suppose you could be in one of those space submarines we keep seeing everywhere.
MaxwellBuchanan, Nov 03 2019

       Incidentally, why isn't "spacecraft" another word for "interior design"?
MaxwellBuchanan, Nov 03 2019

       Because there aren't many* aerospace engineers who mince in and say "Ooooh, my dear ! Not THOSE curtains with THAT rug ..."

       *An estimated based on observational evidence can be extrapolated to indicate that "not many" where many > x >= 0 solves as x = 0 with a 99.9% confidence.

       //Given that many species have had prehensile tails and feet for millions of years, it's surprising how few of them have evolved to become hensile// .. Is this too long for a tagline?
Skewed, Nov 03 2019

       //We didn't say anything about free-fall//

       No you didn't, so are we presumming some form of anti- gravity or will it be freefall?
Skewed, Nov 03 2019

       //the majority of humans look better when covered up//

       hmm... given zero-g as a norm, I'd imagine standards of "beauty" would change over time, probably trending towards bald and spherical.
FlyingToaster, Nov 04 2019

       // bald and spherical //

       The idea of [MB] embarking on a career as a supermodel is really quite disturbing.

       // bald and spherical //
It would make physics easier.
"Assume the person is a sphere..."

       Ah nude-space movie, not nude space-movie. Too bad. Kate Upton looks good floating around in free fall wearing only a gold bikini. [link]

       Why not just have live cam space porn? - Barbarella came close.
xenzag, Nov 04 2019

       I assumed that zero-g would be an important part of this, with random objects floating at convenient positions in frame. I may have been wrong.
