A seasonal hat could be produced in white, grey or black so
signify a willingness to observe the Christmas period and
traditional festivities, but without the excesses of revelry
and consumption which often accompany it.
Much like the white Remembrance Day poppy, the hat
would also say 'I
wish to commemorate the symbolism of
the fictionalised St Nicholas without wishing to glamorise
obesity, out-of-context laughter and the early streaming of
children into different behavioural groups.
