Navy-coloured Beetle rental

Something old, new, borrowed and blue, in one.

Ignorance prevents me from knowing why some superstitious couples, before getting married, need something old, new, borrowed and blue, but this is the case. So why not rent the couple a refurbished original navy beetle that the bride can be driven to the church in? This item fits perfectly into all four categories, albeit rather tenuously.

be ignorant no more, read about it http://ask.yahoo.com/20031027.html

Annotation:

This would be a new (VW) Beetle? Or a newly-manufactured, old-design one?

Old, new, borrowed, blue, and a silver sixpence in your shoe.

       Keep: old, new, sixpence
Return: borrowed

       All in one?

Refurbshing somtihng just makes it refurbished, not new.

//Each item in this poem represents a good-luck token for the bride. If she carries all of them on her wedding day, her marriage will be happy.// (From the link.)

Hope the bride in question has been working out, [iain]. Maybe her bridesmaids are allowed to help by lifting the rear axle?

Hmm, carrying the thing could be a severe drawback. Severely boned...even I'm voting against it now.

Why doesn't the bride buy a brand new miniature old-style blue VW beetle for the page boy. Then ask to borrow it on the day? Does it now fit all the criteria?

(Oh, and if the silver sixpence is still required, put it inside the miniature beetle, which would be put in the heel of the bride's specially designed shoe....)
