The concept's pretty simple. Since most video rental places already track what you select, why not take all that information and use it to find the people in your area who have the same taste in movies you do?
An idea inspired by this one...

I still believe this has advantages over just hanging out in the classics section--you're not relying on the off chance of showing up at the same time, for one thing, and it's more likely you'll find someone with similar tastes.— | bookworm,

Could this reduce rentals by half? What's in it for Blockbuster? |
|
|
I think the reduction in rentals from dates would be offset by increased frequency of rentals and a larger customer base, especially for the few remaining non-Blockbuster video stores. |

This is novel and innovative, and I think it really could work. Pastry all the way!!!!!!!!! |

Since dinner and a movie is a pretty traditional first date, this would be a nice way to set up blind dates. Nice one. |

Good idea, but I'm not sure that I want to get harassed by a pack of geeks because I compulsively rent startrek movies (especially ones with Data.) Not that I don't like geeks, or anything. |
