Whilst getting bored of seeing the Ecuadorian folding bed idea still in the home section, I thought of something else.
If one is to have household pests, they can at least be controlled into doing something useful.
I suggest trapping a virtual phalanx of mice into a tank (not that kind) thence
by tubes onto an array of computer-controlled trampolines they would
1) Provide entertainment for other household pests (cats)
2) The coats of the individual mice could be dyed either red or cyan, and with the aid of a white strobe light and red/cyan glasses they would make a novel form of 3D screen for watching your favourite film. Imagine watching the Matrix in 3d Mouse Vision (TM)!!!
Admittedly you'd have to filter out the squeaking as it'd drown out the dialogue, I mean, when Morpheus says "So you think that (squeak) you're breathing?" Just wouldn't be the same.
Or Avatar,in which case you'd need a lot of blue ones as well.
Almost, but completely different to, this..

Which one of us is exhibiting symptoms of LSD
overdose? I hope it's not me again. |
Ahh, that'll just be the strobe, try changing the flash frequency..it's the dial on the side of the box... |
<BINK><BINK><BINK><BINK><BINK> <BINK> ... |
Has it occurred to you that the whole thing with the cheese and the squeaking might be just a front ... ? |
We've had these for years in England. |
This is done with people in North Korea. |

Don't recollect seeing one in Argos, but I'm guessing you get the Platinum Argos catalogue m'lord... |
//Don't recollect seeing one in Argos// Try Harrods,
next to the poulting mallets. |
Just call them mallets; swearing is not clever or funny. |
I'm fine in one piece but thanks for the offer. |
//but not to the chipmonk degree |
Right, chipmunk voices it is...<evil laughter> helium would work, but castrati are cheaper in the long run. No, I'm not volunteering, before you ask. |
Oh the strobe is to flash when all the mice are in the right position, otherwise it'd just be a blur... |
Theoretically it would be possible to do in actual 3D as you could have the mouse coming off the furthest back trampoline being part of the the furthest back object in the film. A Trompe l'Souris effect, as it were... |
>Has it occurred to you that the whole thing with the cheese and the squeaking might be just a front ... |
I did cross my mind, so I asked the mice and they denied it. So, just one of those things... |
//Oh dear, this has all gone horribly Bagpuss. |
It's simply not possible to have "horrible" and "Bagpuss" in the same sentence. |
Ok, if you were talking about the mice only that I could understand. |
I mean, their manager signing them up as the warm-up band for Metallica? What a divvy. Then the tricky second album, the artistic differences and finally, separate hutches in the Priory rehab...what a thing it is, when mice go bad... |
//Well half of 3D band did get back together. Still with the strobes they added water to the trampolines. Doing well in Vegas |
Erm? This must be yet another blatant usage of wormholes by a person, or persons, unknown to go back in time and use my good ideas before I have even thought of them... |
