Right...the original is quite far away, has a
treacherous
climate and a dead-zone which lacks oxygen.
The more user-friendly version will be franchised out
to countries. It is hollow, to cut down on materials,
and it situated over a pit of 9,676ft.
This construction allows rotation -
so if it's a bit
windy
the mountain can be turned, putting climbers in the
lee of the wind.
The clever bit is....as climber make their way up the
mountain, the mountain is lowered into the pit at the
same rate,so avoiding the need for oxygen bottles
and
it'll be a bit warmer.
In extremis, the climbers can simply open one the
many hatches and rest, or continue their climb on
the
inside.
One free Kendal Mint cake bar for those making it all

Now we're interested. Brown or white ? |

Oddly enough their factory is on St Kilda, so stick to
the white stuff. |

The trouble is that Mt Everest itself is TOO easy. All those
annoying tourists getting dragged up it. if you make the fake
one next-to-impossible to climb as well, the annoying
tourists (who might do the fake as test/prep for the real)
will be discouraged and stay home. |

Does anyone own the copyright on Mt. Everest ? |
|
|
They could just make up "the copyright on Mount Everest"
the way the French decided to spontaneously privatize
regions to make cheese origin location official and less
easily described. |

I might be minded to do a Olympus Mons one, but it'd
be a bugger to stop them tripods wandering all over it. |

One could always climb it from the inside. |
