Andrew Jackson would have worn a mullet

Most currency features the face of some esteemed polito, artist, monarch or other muckamuck. Defacing these folks is nothing new - usually magic marker mustaches and thinks of that ilk. I propose that a system be set up to do this right.

Templates would be available showing a variety of stylish additions to money faces. These would be crisply applied using a computer printer, printing directly onto the bills. I am looking at a 20 with Andrew Jackson and thinking he would look great with black pointy sideburns, a cascading mullet and a soul patch. Another alternative might be a Captain Morgan-type piratical beard and moustache, with a parrot on the shoulder. Abe would look very dashing with some colorprinted mascara and eyeliner, lip gloss, rouge and a perm.

I can see a clearing house for these templates. Creative folks would submit their ideas, then be gratified when they actually ran across their creations in circulation. People would pay closer attention to their money, hoping to find a mod they had not seen. Cheap, subversive fun for all!

Given the penalties some countries have for defacing the currency, I would suggest doing what everyone else does (or, at least, those who do it legally), and apply a peelable sticker. In this case, it could be transparent with a pen-friendly surface.

One of the things that so ticked off the US government about Iraq was that they were behind a major $50 forgery scheme. So, in answer to your question, you do *not* want to find out!

Actually, with two long pigtails, Abe looks a bit like Willy Nelson.

You can print all the money you want, you just can't make it look like the official stuff.

Otherwise, you couldn't use checks or credit cards -- those things are essentially money.

       So go nuts!
