Like half-mirrored sunglasses, I think half-mirrored contact lenses would look cool.

They would if you could find some way of ensuring that you didn't leave a fingerprint in the middle of them when you put them in. |

Damn! Someone's already had all my best ideas! |
Yep, I had this idea quite a while ago, too (before halfbakery popped up). It's entirely possible. Wonder why no one's done it yet? |

Vin Diesel wore a pair of these in the movie Pitch Black. |
William Gibson had one of his characters ('Sublett') wear some in 'Virtual Light'... |

Unfortunately, neither of those links leads to mirrored lenses. Halloweennight is gone, and while Lensquest has an excellent collection of FX lenses, 'mirrored' is not one of the choices. Fortunately, the Archive has a copy of the Halloweennight image. (I'm underwhelmed) |

What we really need are silver scleral lenses, making the entire eyeball look like a giant ball-bearing of something like that. :-) |
It shouldn't hurt them much, but scleral contacts are typically made of the same stuff as other contact lenses. |
(The FX Eyes link shows at least two mirrored styles.) |
Eyesbright do them much cheaper (£19.99 as opposed to $299), although the pupil remains black - see link. |
