Seeing as the UK went Decimal back in 1970-umpty it's about the actual language caught up a bit. For example (clears throat)

"So, after doing a little tidying up in the back 91.44 cm, I watched that animated film about the dancing penguin, you know the one, "Happy 60.96cm", after that I was trying to do the upgrades on my OS, but the progress bar was just 2.54cm-ing along, so I decided to do it later".

That kind of thing.

Annotation:

Thanks a tonne for an idea that is overdue. I doubt folks will go the whole nine metres with it, though.

Kind of reminds me of Victor Borge's "Inflationary Language". That was two of the best comedy routines ever - two-derfully funny! A cubic metre of laughs!

I'm not sure that decimalization of language is something I'd want to comtemplten.
