It can happen at home: Youve got one hand on the ladder and the other is holding a paintbrush or youre holding a beer while mowing the lawn. A neighbor goes by, shouts, Hi and waves. Or it can happen at work: Youre walking down the corridor and have just sipped some coffee from the cup youre holding
in one hand, while the others balancing a stack of CDs. A co-worker pops out of a room with a Good morning. Did they hear your sudden, mumbled greeting or see you do the chin-up salutation or notice the raised-eyebrow acknowledgment?
Too bad you werent wearing your handy Make Waves Cap. On its top is a stiff wire, affixed to the base with a spring. At the top of the wire is attached a life-like foam hand. All you have to do is wag your head for a normal wave, shake it to make a royal wave or nod, producing the village idiot hand flap. If asked how its going or how youre doing, just lean your head forward and shake it, causing the so-so signal.
If you want to convey a more expressive response, the foam fingers have wire centers and can be bent to create various hand gestures.
