It's time to turn the mattress over, and I find this a real pain. If
only there was a type of mattress that never needed turning.
Fortunately Mr Möbius was kind enough to discover/invent a
circular form, with a single sided surface that makes the perfect
solution to the mattress turning chore.
From now on there is no
need, as Möbius's Mattress requires no inversion.
All that is needed are a few turns of the handy crank, and a fresh
section of mattress is hauled into position, and the bed can be
made up again. The extra mattress "loop" is naturally stored under
the bed, connecting the head to the foot, and calibrated so as to
make it easy to move a fresh section into position.

A mattress that looks like a large soup can with both ends cut out, could also do this. But the crackers would stare you in the face or drop on you, no fitted sheets, and you have to crawl over the foot of the bed to shut off the alarm. |

How about a toroidal mattress, with a conveyor-belt mechanism for the bed base? The headboard and footboard would constrain the matterss from squirting off the end under your weight. |

Not needed. The last time I went mattress
shopping, all the new models no longer needed to
be rotated. |

I interpreted this to mean that they decided to
save on materials by making only one side of the
mattress fit for sleeping on, and they really didn't
care if the user only got half the life out of the
springs because of that. |

My mattress has a "hot" side for the winter, and a cool side for the summer. It's a bollox turning it over. In fact I've just voted in favour of my own idea and I'm off now to haunch down a chocolate biscuit as even more reward. |

No it's not the idea, see <link>. Toroidal but not möbiusoidal |

If used in an escalator with a see through bottom,
everybody would gather at the mall staring at it for
hours while buying popcorn from the nearby stand. |

One would assume that August Mobius' mattress was straw and cotton or something, rather normally shaped. |
