Get rid of boring, inanimate wallpaper (.bmp, .jpg. and the rest) by replacing it with a live video feed 1) of the mall 2) from the hood of a police car 3) of your house (to prevent burglaries) 4) of you favorit scenic spot. Lord knows people are worse than dogs when it comes to staring at our own kind; we're just better at hiding it. I spend enough time staring at my computer that this would be a *truly* splendid advance in workplace contentment.

**Of course, this would be limited to those of us with fast, permanent internet connections...

Buy an ATI All-In-Wonder video card and you can have an input video source (composite video or broadcast television) appear as your desktop wallpaper. I kid you not--this actually works.

That'll work in the midwest too...at least some parts.

I agree with supercat I own an ATI all in wonder card, and I can setup any video stream as my desktop.
