This is a strategy for pop up advertisements. Combine literacy education and interactivity into popup advertising by making people click on each word in a short advertising slogan before they get to go on to whatever it is they are looking for. So, you click on, "listen to Miley Cyrus" and you get an Advertisement that says: " (x)ciggarettes (x)are (x)bad (x)for (x)you" and you have to click each word away before you get to the next page - in this case the Miley Cyrus video.

Why do these random squiggles keep showing up on my machine? And who turned off the pop up blocker?
