Baked? They're not back lighted but a lot of laptops come with small lights above the screen specifically so you can seen the keyboard (the IBM T20 springs to mind) |

With just a screwdriver, some EL light stripping (see link), a little time and ingenuity you can make your keys lighted. |

The lighted keys concept could be extended to individually lighted keys under computer control. I claim this would have a niche market in instructional uses. Consider a computer with audio output and a keyboard lighted in this sense. Picture a preliterate user using the system to learn literacy and the computer together. |
