There should be neon running lights underneath tractor
trailers. These running lights would be in different colors
to
identify cargo. This should only be required of trucks
carrying volitile cargos. I don't think those little diamond
warning things are enough. Maybe this would at least
give
the feeling that driving is safer.
lets was this a safe one to crash into?

Kind of useless during the daytime-hours ... |
But in the daytime hours, you can actually see the little diamond thingys. |
Thats right. Which means I would pay as much attention at night to a truck's load as I do during the day ... |
So you know which trailers are safe to crash into? |
This so calls for a link, now do i go for neon lights or crashes?... |

Why don't you just light up the warning placards? Easier and cheaper than giant beer signs driving down the road. |
There are hundreds of different numbers used on those "little diamond warning things", are you going to have hundreds of different colors? Or are you just going to use one color for each hazard class? If so you need a color for each of these: |
Class 1 - Explosives
Class 2 - Gases
Class 3 - Flammable liquids (and Combustible liquids in US)
Class 4 - Flammable solids; Spontaneously combustible materials
Class 5 - Oxidizers and Organic peroxides
Class 6 - Toxic* materials and Infectious substances
Class 7 - Radioactive materials
Class 8 - Corrosive materials
Class 9 - Miscellaneous dangerous goods

(These are the smaller numbers that is shown at the very bottom of the diamond shaped sign). |
Yea I think I agree - just light up the sign -- thats all you need. |
