Laptop Wedge
Collapsible Plastic Wedge which can hold open a laptop | |
One frustrating thing about large-screened laptops is that some of them close if used laying down at an angle. Presumeably making the hinge more resistant to opening would either make the hinge more fragile or would make the laptop harder to close. So, I propose a pair of collapsible triangular prisms.
When collapsed, they hook together. When open, they can be attached on the left and right sides of a laptop's hinge, acting as a wedge to prevent the laptop from closing. I figure they'd cost about $3. They should be designed to collapse on their own if a lot of force is applied (i.e. if a person stupidly tries to close their laptop with the hinge lock in place, it will collapse and the laptop won't be damaged by it).

A collapsible wedge used to prop open a collapsing hinge? Surely some sort of brace would be required to prevent the wedges from collapsing. Ideally, said brace should be collapsible to some extent too. |
