Those of us who have dual language keyboards keep on
seeing
this crop up. A third keyboard suddenly appears, usually a
secondary one to your main language. So if you had English
US,
you suddenly get a new English UK keyboard, with several
keys
out of the usual place that you expect them
to be. Then you
change the language and it stays English, and need to
change
another time. The solution is, after 2 months and after you
forgot already all about how you solved it the last time is to
go
into the control panel add the English UK, and then remove
it.
But then where is the add language. You search the web,
read
all kinds of wrong advice and finally remember how to it
yourself.
In comes the Language remover. First time you install it
detects the keyboard even if it is not showing in your
installation. It asks you to confirm its findings, and if needed
and you agree, fixes the problem. Next time it comes up,
you
run it again. Or maybe it lurks in the background waiting for
an unwanted keyboard to show its ugly face once again.

You don't need a language remover - you need a windoze remover. It's called Linux, it's free, and it works really, really well. |

When I bought my used Dell Precision Pro, it came
with a Linux Mint distro installed on it. So not being
a computer guru, I gave Mint a good college try. I
really did. But my simpleton brain couldn't wrap my
head around how to partition my drives efficiently
given my starting point with all kinds of files in
sporadic places and wanting to also run win 7
natively for work requirements. It had computerese
that my BASIC and DOS-based brain couldn't identify
with. And then I also realized that I was just
considering dual-booting just to have Linux, which I
didn't really have any practical need for other than
for curiosity, and my curiosity for operating systems
runs about as deep as my patience for the orange
clusterfuck. |

10 now, which this old machine isn't really happy
with. |

[Ray] I too did Mint for a few months, and it was slick and
fast and worked well until couldn't handle a particular
file. Then the fun (?) began. Endlessly canvassing blogs
for users in similar straits, searching various Linux sites,
finding the right app and installing it at the DOS level,
figuring out why it still didn't work, more blogs, more
searching, more DOS. I could hear the distro laughing at
my ineptitude. Windows at least tries to help the user,
tells you what it needs, updates itself. |

I hear Linux will boot from a memory stick and run as an
overlay in Windows; handy for when self-flagellation has
lost its appeal and you wish to try a different form of
punishment. |

SuSE is better, but has different quirks, and is more for servers than laptops. |

Except for a bare bones up install, all OS's will have unused libraries, space using software and depending on user, stuff(even hardware) that will never see an electron stream. |
