Many men have spindly or knobbly knees, that should not be exposed to public view. Some of these knees resemble 1950 style science fiction illustrations of the type of asteroids that would obliterate the earth, whilst others are insect like in their puny dimensions.

All are frightening to children and attract the attention of the fashion police. This is where Kneeboxes come in. Kneeboxes would come in a variety of sizes, shapes, materials and character - bit like shoes. They would be hinged to facilitate walking, could have internal storage for ice cubes to cool the knee in the summer heat, when they are most likely to be worn. They would also be available in generic surfaces, ready for decoration like a hard boiled Easter egg. They could for example be covered with mirrors and worn at the disco. The variations are endless.

I really like this. As worn by Spike Milligan, along with a yellow sou'wester hat and a scoutmaster's uniform.

       Well, it could have been.

Very nice, I shall order mine now.

Perhaps reflective stripes for going out jogging at night?

Suggest category of fashion: general. Not a whole lot better but other: general just seems a little lazy. I think a fashion: knee category to be of the highest priority. We could put [benfrost]'s knee bra in there as well.

       You could also use pance.

I'd illustrate this if I could.

I did look for one of those Milligan sketches - the pencil ones with people of knobbly knees and wearing enormous boots - because I thought they would be perfect as an illustration. But I couldn't find anything quite right on t'internet.

This is very wrong. The sock-and-sandal combination would not be complete without an exposed knobbly knee above it.

So we can now rename knee-pads to knee-boxes

I'm not going to delete it for two reasons. 1 I actually made a set of these over ten years ago, and I still have them, long before I had even heard of the halfbakery 2 They are a substantially different idea, and function to that of Benfrost's knee bra. It would be a bit like comparing a wonderbra to a wooden bodice (incidentally I have made wooden shirts too)

       You've lost me now.
