This idea's all right in the title. For those who haven't seen it, Junkyard Wars is a show where two teams compete to build something using junkyard items. The twist here is to build halfbakery items out of junk. Surprisingly, the resulting items may be more worthless after the competition.

I didn't mind the show, but a lot of the items found in the junkyard/scrapheap were a little convenient. |

It is well known (and admitted on-air in episodes where it is obvious, like the steam car & rocket episodes) that Scrapheap/Junkyard does stock the yard with useful known-good items, like cars with working engines and so on. |

I for one would love to see many of these ideas built. Having them built from junkyard scrap, under time constraints, competitively would yield grand entertainment. The flaws in logic discovered in the last minute, the action of seeing someone adding wheels and an engine to an iron lung. Priceless, I tell you. Priceless! |

I know a crew of cool welding freaks in Brooklyn who got to be on Junkyard Wars. They beat out a group of firemen in their first round but were subsequently eliminated. Pretty thrilling, though! |
