Humans like chocolate biscuits.
Dogs also like chocolate biscuits ... but human chocolate, loaded
with
theobromine and caffene, is extremely dangerous.
But now, an innovative product from BorgCo Labs solves the
problem.
Every fourth biscuit in the packet is a specially formulated dog
biscuit
that resembles the regular biscuits but is clearly distinguishable (but
still OK for humans, just not as palatable).
Now you can share the pack with your canine companion(s) with no
fear of poisoning them.

It looks like the LD50 for dogs is about 300mg/kg. there's
about 2mg/gram of theobromine in dairy milk. so you need
150g/kg of dog. The last dog I had was a German Shepherd,
about 35 kg. So I'd need 5.3kg of Dairy Milk. For a minute
there I was feeling guilty about getting said dog to stand on
his hind legs for inordinate amounts of time for 1/8th of a
McVitties. |
|
|
Remember that LD50 is the median fatal dose, so half of
dogs will die at less than that, and much less will still make
them sick. |

Why not as palatable? Make all the biscuits both safe and yummy for humans and dogs. |
|
|
No, because human nature being what it is, some humans would
scoff all the biscuits and the dog(s) wouldn't get any. |

Dairy milk's a bad case to choose. Dark chocolate has
considerably higher levels, and dark cooking chocolate is the
worst of all. |

Watch out for our next new line, paracetamol-laden kitty treats,
sweetened with diethylene glycol. |

|
[bs], how long, to the nearest nanosecond, do you estimate it
would take for a 35kg German Shepherd to consume 5kg of milk
chocolate ? |

I was dimly aware that cats are very susceptible to
poisoning by various members of the lily family. Apparently
the symptoms are: vomiting, lethargy and loss of appetite.
That's ALL CATS DO. |
|
|
except the loss of appetite bit. |
|

Cats are also vulnerable to the effects of ferrous alloys,
especially in the form of steamrollers. |

Not as Suchard, but many do suffer from lactose Intobleronce

What is this 'guilt' you speak of? Do I hang around the dish whining when the dog food gets laid out? I have stopped doing the "look, look opposable thumb, see - opposable thumb" chanting to bait dogs with. |
