I have a number of friends who use wheelchairs but also walk.
These
are folks who find it difficult to walk long distances for one reason
or
another so use a wheelchair, but then are always running into the
situation where folks see them standing up from their wheelchairs
and say "you're
not disabled."
So this chair has a pressure trigger in the seat that when released
when the person stands up, plays
swelling, inspirational, maudlin music, preferably orchestral
strings, so that foolable people will think it's a miracle.

This is definitely an idea. |

[+] Lookin' forward to hearin' Thus Spake Zarathustra from a few stalls down. |
Needs a heavenly glow too for the full effect |
What does the H stand for? |
//Like an ejection seat?// |
This might be one of your best. |

Whoo hoo, it's [oneoffdave] in the flesh, so to speak. As for
the idea, I love it. But it should also have a "waa-waa-waa-"
feature for when the person stumbles backwards and falls
into the seat again, as if he can no longer walk again. |
Alternatively the voice of a televangelist bellowing "Son, I
command you to RISE!" |
The intro to Thus Sprach Zarathustra would be the proper song to play any such miracle. You know, like the obese captain on WALL-E. |
Symphony #9 by Beethoven would work. |

What is that called, when an event is accompanied by illustrative music? A rimshot is an example but is so specifically one thing. Is there are term for this? Because there needs to be more of it. |

I am envisioning rather droning scholarly talks. enlivened by the house band laying down beats, chords and other musical punctuation. The speaker would also be peppier, buoyed by the moral support of the band. Who does not feel more confident when backed by a band? |
This is all wrong, you know. |
When the person stands up, the wheelchair should
make a noise similar to the Caterpillar P-5000
exoskeleton in Aliens. |
Better yet, a belt-worn accessory along with some
motion sensors could provide the appropriate mecha-
sound effects to accompany all body movements. |

Good idea. Post it and I'll bun it at least. |
I'm picturing a "Peter and The Wolf" style thingy. |

//Have you never heard of beat-boxing huskies for
the partially disabled ?// |

[Bigsl], if you're just going to start making stuff up
then there's no hope for you. |
