Restaraunt Menus should have an extra option called "I Just Don't Know" for those who find it impossible to decide what they want from an extensive list of very nice options.
If you order this option you get a huge plate, with a bit of everything else on the menu on it.

Sometimes you can ask the waiter to have the chef "cook for you" and just take a gamble on what she or he might prepare. I've done this several times and haven't been disappointed yet. Most often in Thai restaurants and most often when eating with a group. |
I've done the same with Thai and Chinese fare as well, bristolz. Learned from my Pop to ask if there's a special dish that's not on the menu, as he'd have a dinner that was almost a religious experience. Elsewhere, <refrain>when in doubt, order the club sandwich</refrain>. How about a tree menu? |

In my favorite restaurant on earth, there's never a problem with choosing, because there's only one choice. It's usually 4-6 courses, and changes each night depending on the chef's whim and what was among the best offerings at the market that day. No restaurant offering a menu of choices has ever equalled this one. |

Try going to a buffet lunch: you get the plate, then you get to put a little bit of everything on it. |
And those buffets are usually the height of culinary art, too. |

So, kinda like yum cha then? |
"soupçon." I like that word. Or an ort. |
Maybe give it some fancy French-sounding name (or other language) so that you don't have to feel embarrased about ordering the "No se flambe." |

I think a more pleasing option is for the menu to have buttons by each food selection. You first press the buttons beside all the menu items that appeal to you. Then you press a "Random Select" button that shuffles your choices and randomly chooses one. |

I would order this every time! [8th] - I suspect you are either like me, or else has to suffer eating out with someone who is. |
