I'm an ipod owner and I absolutely love it.
I mostly use mine in the car, as I drive between Bristol and London daily. With 4000 tracks on it, I often don't recognise the track I'm listening too (despite my owning the original ... go away lawyers!)
But here's the rub. I have to look at the
screen to id the track which is dangerous when driving.
FM units attached to the ipod to transmit via the radio are not new, but I propose a device that transmits the FM signal along with an RDS. This could then display the track and artist on my radio screen in a scrolling message.
What is RDS

now... if RodsTiger says "what about lyrics".... |
|
|
Elaborate sir [rods]...or at least give us a link to your wise idea poaching... |
|
|
lyrics idea was posted by neilp. however, the issue here is that lyrics are not stored as part of standard track info by the ipod. My idea could broadcast the standard track info stuff without any modification. |

I totally "hear" you jon.. |

I would say take it a step further and have it somehow
display right on the bottom of the windshield.. why not?
They're about to (or have already) launched the idea on
some cadillac models for night vision (avoiding deer and
the like)... |

Well, that's a lot easier to do at night than during the day... |

Kensington makes one already. |
