Sorta sounds reasonable except that I have no idea how much water volume and pressure are available as described in the system. How long would it take for the system to pay for itself? Would extracting kinetic energy from the discharge cause problems with any downstream processes? |

Don't think Teflon will be up to making turbine blades - it is just too soft. Maybe inconel, hastelloy, titanium or something other generally unreactive would be better. A bigger question would be whether the energy recovery would be worthwhile. What percentage of the high pressure boiler output do you think you could capture from this system? |

HALF - Water volume varies from 10~50 cu.metre/hour, head varies between 5~35 metre during various activities of rinsing, back washing etc.; there would be no downstream problems as effluent is discharged in open trench. Micro means generation capacity ranging from 100W~few Kilowatt. Portable to save cost as all ion exchangers are not regenerated simultaneously - turbine can be shifted near each ion exchanger when required. 5fH mentioned in units earlier yields power in kilowatt. |

The basic idea is to capture energy being wasted invariably during regular regenration of ion exchangers. Battery charging system would ensure energy storagee irrespective of the time of the day. DC lighting can be used during night time. |

There would be no back pressure, provided turbine shaft is not jammed. Even if little back pressure is there, it won't be harmful for process upstream. |
