Humvee Castors

extra heavy duty sofa castors

Most furniture castors are puny one or two wheeled items. That's all well and good for the light stuff, but for today's massively obese individuals (who are now the norm in many places), a much sturdier castor is clearly required for the sofa to prevent it sinking right through the carpet, or tram-lining the wooden floor.

With this need in mind, car maker Humvee have stepped in and produced a 4 wheel boggie style castor, featuring ultra heavy duty inflatable mini tyres that easily spread the load of a 400lb individual reclining on their reinforced sofa.

Also under development is a military themed tank tread version of the castor to spread the load to an even greater extend for the seriously large 400-900lb+ (of which there are quite a few in the world now)

Castor with retractable foot https://comac.nz/le...hite-75mm-4779.html
A better solution. A broader foot would be an easy mod if needed. [neutrinos_shadow, Apr 26 2022]

Couch_20with_20lockable_20wheels Discussion of extra heavy duty sofa castors, industrial castors, locking castors, self-powered castors. But not inflatable-tyred castors or off-road castors. [pocmloc, Apr 27 2022]

Baked. Sort of... https://www.youtube...watch?v=CTgLnUgzZYk
but not really [doctorremulac3, Apr 28 2022]

For things like sofas, that aren't heavy on their own (for shifting) but take heavy loads when stationary (like fat people), a retractable foot castor is a better option. See linky.

Better option? hahaha - this is the Halfbakery - I never make "better" options, only halfbaked ones.
xenzag, Apr 26 2022

Of course. What was I thinking?
Carry on!

I think we have already done massive oversized sofa casters on here.
pocmloc, Apr 27 2022

"We" may have - so show me where they are?
xenzag, Apr 27 2022

Still not seeing those mini Humvee 4 wheel castors you promised.
xenzag, Apr 27 2022

I never promised anything, I merely made a factual observation.
