Hood Ornament Antenna

Multi-tasking

Why have both a hood ornament and an antenna, when you can combine the two? Instead of running a cable all the way from the radio to a complicated, telescoping antenna way at the back of the car, run it straight to the hood ornament. A large metal ornament could provide very good radio reception, and eleminate the need for a tall telescoping antenna or a fin-style antenna on the back roof.

A mobile radio antenna is provided such that its antenna function may be concealed. This may be accomplished in one preferred arrangement by coupling or blending the mobile radio unit with an oranmental device at the traditional frontal hood-level location. [Aristotle, Dec 02 2009]
