This game would be based loosely on the rules of Football (Gotta call it soccer though or the name doesn't work.) and the players would be in small hovercraft.
As with "soccer" there would be two teams, and the positions would be the same. The field would need to be scaled up since this game is
played with fast moving vehicles. The ball itself will be a round hovercraft; much like a scaled up version of those powered street-hockey pucks.
The thing that makes Hoccer different from the usual "lets play this sport in cars" sort of idea is the very nature of hovercrafts. Since there isn't much friction between the vehicle and the ground in any direction, if you smash two of them together the collision should be pretty close to elastic. This could lead to all sorts of amusing tactics. You could ram someone on the other team to keep the from scoring, or even bounce the ball (more of a puck really) off of your teammates craft into the goal. With the players safely enclosed in their vehicles, few rules are necessecary and that would allow for many creative plays.
Hopefully, this will turn out to be a fast paced combination of Soccer, Hockey and bumper cars.
