HiberSphere
Any resemblance to Simpsons episodes past and present is purely coincidental. | |
With the growing insularity of the nation and the increase in single living as well as reliance on impersonal and cramped flat/loft living, this may be the answer...
HiberSphere is in essence a perspex sphere. It screws together from two hemispheric halves for easy assembly: the lower half is solid
with a mattress surface on the equatorial line with drawers in the lower half for spare bedding, bedsocks, nightcap etc. The top half is perforated (to preserve life) but clear, perhaps imbued with that new substance which opaques glass at the touch of a switch. It could also glow softly for bedtime reading or to treat SAD.
Safe and warm, the sphere gives the occupant(s) that feeling of safety which comes from hiding under the duvet, guaranteeing a feeling of womb-like reassurance and comfort. Easily movable by small lockable casters on the base, the sphere can be moved in front of the TV for sick days, to a window or to another room, ideally by remote control from within the sphere itself.
Also available in Modular Office, Camping and Bath models.

Disappointed. Was hoping for a spherical sleeping nest to be used instead of a bed. Oh, wait, that's what it is. Well, okay, but in my head it would have been made of twigs. Hey, that's what nests are made of! + |

Not that it's important, but I don't get the Simpsons reference... |

Adze - in one episode Bart gets a virus and lives in a sphere with a door in it - he can jump off buildings and bounce, float on water, etc. |
