Frankly, hairdryers need a retractable cord.

One has the basic human right, to simply take it out, plug it in, dry hair, and put it back, without the hassle of having to wrap the cord up.

I just used one about 2 hours ago. Rather common here. Hmmmm. What does that say about our US culture, I wonder.

Not seen a curling iron with a retractable cord yet.

Many years ago (in the '80s when I sported enough hair to require a dryer,) I owned a handheld hair dryer that featured a springy spirally coiled cord.

Eventually, the dryer became defective, and I trashed it, but kept the cord.

The cord was perfect to replace the overheated cord of an electric popcorn popper, (due to its heat resistance,) and lives on today serving a useful purpose.

Hello, retractable hair, you are looking particularly springy today.

       [marked-for-deletion] Widely known to exist.
