Anybody like me who shoots guns would be lying if they said the big bang wasn't part of the fun. This would make shooting more fun 'cause it would sound cooler.
Gasses tapped from the muzzle outlet are directed to a hollow butt stock that's used as a resonating chamber like on a string instrument.
The gas would be directed to the hollow stock then loop back to the foregrip where decorative sound holes would allow the resulting beefier sounding report to escape.
You might be able to justify it (if you needed to) by saying the treated sound was less damaging to your hearing because it bounced around in a chamber before being released losing energy, but it would really just be to make your gun go "BOOM!" instead of "POP!".

Ever fire one of those Ruger model 77 paddle stocks? My mate uses one in .308, it's easily 1.5 times as loud as my Tikka and we've got the same barrel length. |

|
I reckon this is already invented. |
|
|
Also, any recoil-compensating muzzle break. Another mate has one on his .308 (although why you need to attenuate a .308's recoil, I don't know) - and it's ear-bleedingly bad to be beside him when he let's it go. |

Getting a rifle to scream out a chord of some sort would be amusing. |

My Loudener is louder downrange just as a side-effect of lessening the damaging volume uprange, and also a sop to people who have serious concerns about hidden gunmen. |

I just like the idea of your gun sounding better.
People do it with cars, why not guns? Is it pointless?
Probably. Is it worth the effort? Maybe. Am I doing
that annoying thing where I ask a question and then
answer it? Certainly. |

One could do this and save on ammunition by having a laser sight that produced a bullet shaped image on the target screen when you pulled the trigger, together with headphones that produce whatever sound you feel appropriate for your endeavor. |
