Graphic Sugar Content Illustration On Food / Condiment Packages

Bottom part of the label is white at the same percentage of sugar content of the product.

So if the product is 25% sugar, the bottom 25% of the label is white graphically pointing out the sugar content. Printing of words, logos, QR codes etc are still there only with a white background.

Don't outlaw stuff with sugar in it, just let people know without having to read that small print. Quick glance would give you the idea.

ADDENDUM: A smart phone app that does the same thing. You point your camera at a product and it superimposes the sugar label on it, like those apps kids use that that turn a human face into a squirrel or rabbit in real time.

Like this, only just the label obviously. https://www.faceboo...wdijRL9dqRXVpYvMwBl

Was skeptical but looks like that pic is accurate. https://www.snopes....mato-ketchup-sugar/

Are we only counting certain kinds of sugar (such as refined sugar), or are we including every organic compound with an "-ose" on the end?
pertinax, Sep 21 2024

Boy it does get complicated, there are so many different kinds of sugar. Plus the link shows granulated sugar, if you liquify that, as you would adding it to ketchup, wouldn't it take up a less volume and be lower on the label?

       Yea, good question.

Maybe this would be better as an app. You point your camera at a product and it superimposes the sugar label on it, like those apps kids use that that turn a human face into a squirrel or rabbit in real time.

... and if you thought cellulose wasn't a sugar, then you haven't been listening to your termites. ;-)

Probably an app that you point at the product and it superimposes a squirrel on the label would be a lot more popular.
pocmloc, Sep 22 2024

But a squirrel on a sugar-high could be really annoying. See link.

       Chipmunks. They're much worse.
