The gongs should be projected, too, heh, to seem to be coming from the projected clock, of course! |
Ticks, tocks, gongs, chimes, bells, tugboat whistles, explosions, screams, car crashes, etc. is wide open to the imagination and is user programmable on the hour, half, or quarter hour. |

It's a projection clock but when you press the button, a raspy man's voice says "Back in my day we didn't have these new-fangled projection clocks, we had to get out of bed, walk 10 miles to the church in a foot of snow to see what time it was, now get to your chores you rapscallion!" |

Or the idea that a grandfather could be projected (optically or mechanically) onto the wall from a clock on the other side of the room. |
If a grandfather were projected mechanically on to the wall from the other side of the room it seems likely that haunting could occur. |

The coolest clock that I ever saw (in a museum in Amsterdam) has the image of a guy projected from inside on the clock face, where he erases and draws new clock hands every minute/hour. See link. Not sure if he's a grandfather. |
