[JTD] More or a personal wireless device you carry around with you. Probably relies on MS "out of office assistant" world domination and global positioning.

out of office assistant - yeah right! <sneers>

This would be ideal for my purposes. My office is right next door to my PhD supervisor. Unfortunately he is a very busy man and is often absent when I want to speak to him. Not only that - he is absent when his myriad of other students come by his office. They then turn to me... and time after time after sodding time I have to make guesses or just tell them that I don't know.

Since we are in the mobile telecommunications division, I really should try and make one of these...

Goes up to guy at party:

"Didn't we meet last new year at Jim and Sarah's place?"

"Could be dude! Was that where we were all laid out on 'shrooms or was that the one where it was raining in the field? I'm sure we met in some world - you get? Hey! Check the shape of my knuckles when I do this! Isn't that great? Do you ever get the feeling that knuckles are the windows of the soul?"

       Takes out gonometer...TZZZZZ Phhhpppp......Ding!

Reads: Subject is really far gone. May come back, may not.

Jinbish, how much could you do a plausible imitation your prof? Do you look approximately alike? Do you want a new office? ;-)

       An idea from this idea:

       1. Take a 'back in 5 minutes' sign. Place an ordinary kitchen timer over the 5.

       2. Wind it up to '30' for a half-hour trip to the [bank/post office/pub].

       3. Bob's your uncle. Jane's your aunt.
