Inspired by, and with a nod to, phundug's "Goal Pole":
There are two goats confined by fence to the playing field, but allowed to wander therein. They are attached to one another by 3 meters of rope, and affixed to each is a pole sticking straight up into the air 1 meter. A successful goal is whatever
gets between the goat poles, the difficulty of which will depend on where they are at any given moment, their distance from one another, and their tendency to run away from an approaching player.
UPDATE: Round playing field.
UPDATE: Another nod to 21quest, who anno'ed phundug's idea with similar thoughts as mine.

Shirley it would have to be a Ghost Pole? |

i like it, but give [21quest] credit if due. love the idea of players squaring up the ball for a shot over and over as the goal ambles along the fence. + |

straw bashers are standard uniform for the teams. |

A nod to 21quest. I read phundug's post as "goat pole" initially myself. As I was reading phundug's description, I kept thinking -- "wait, where are the goats in this?" |

Could the players tackle the goats? Hmmm, maybe that would be a bad tactic, it would make them want to run more |
