One day in the year, when it's nationally decided that no-one should be bothered, and we all go back to bed for the day. (If you sleep or not is up to you).

How can anyone in good conscience not vote for going back to bed?
snarfyguy, Jan 16 2003

I celebrate a holiday just like this, it's two days long, and occurs at regularly spaced intervals every month. I call it "weekends".

There was talk in the u.k. last year of some companys doing this.I could do with a go to work day to find out what it is like

Oh, please let it be tomorrow.

What do mattress testers do?? This would be a much more satisfying holiday if it was random. If we knew in advance, it would be like every other bank holiday, weekend etc. Some governing body should pick a random date and then post information on the net, T.V, Radio and other media on the morning that they have chosen. Theres nothing as great as thinking you have to go to work and then finding out you can idle in bed dropping toast crumbs until you begin to lose muscle tone.

I was just thinking there should be a new day of the week called Sleepday (it comes between Wednesday and Thursday). This would prevent that end-of-the-week exhausted feeling, increase productivity, and improve everyone's overall mood. No one would be allowed to leave the house on Sleepday, police and emergency services excepted, and they would patrol the streets giving tickets to offenders trying to get errands done. "Boy am I beat, I can't wait until next Sleepday!"
