Glass Bottomed Plane

I Can See My House From Here.

Imagine an airline that, when you look at the floor of one of their planes, you are able to see all the way to ground level. Expensive to fly with? Probably. Utterly and completely terrifying? Most definitely. But interesting? Undisputedly.

Of course, regular glass wouldn't be able to stand the high pressure and weight. And even if you used the thick double glazed glass from plane windows, it would only give you a view of the cargo hold.

The solution would be to have a floor made up of laminated LCD screens, and have a series of cameras, located on the underbelly of the plane, streaming real-time video of the ground beneath you to the tips of your toes for the entertainment/horror of yourself and other airline passengers.

I, who have no memory banks whatsoever, absolutely know we did this before. It was an amazing idea then, but I don't know if it survived the crash. (The bakery crash, not the plane crash.)

       [Phoenix]?

No, I want it to be done, but the idea has been halfbaked, and if I'm not mistaken, it was also baked.

       Where the hell is Phoenix?

The first person that says "Arizona", will be slapped so far sideways, their hair will need a wind tunnel pony tail holder!

Phoenix is in the southwest near Tucson.

My first thought with a glass bottomed plane was: some people would do anything to look up the air hostesses skirts.

I liked it until I thought of my neck ... maybe this should be combined with some beds so that you could be laying down on your stomach while watching. [+]

Right. I believe leaning in and looking down would be a bad idea.
