       culture meets Petri dish? hah

Baked. Many of the most difficult troubleshooting issues I've run into have only been resolved after I've cut myself on an errant bit of punched sheetmetal inside a computer case. Obviously the computer gods required a blood sacrifice. Unfortunately, I don't know its/their name(s).

       What's the idea about again?

po, Bubba, phoenix - I'd popped an incomplete idea up prior to listing details - all apologies - off to bed I go

For a long time there was a trend amongst net admins to name their servers after Greek and Roman gods. I lost count of how many "zeus.domainname.com" servers I stumbled across.

Sorta baked, I'd say... Kirk (replete with Zeus-like sexploits), Spock (from the Roman god, Vulcan, obviously), and other such Star Drech dieties come complete with cultic followers and strange rituals involving weird clothes and religious artefacts("Yes, it's an original zyglblot from the second series episode City on the Edge of Whatever."), arcane knowledge ("No, no, the phase-occilo induction coils are in sub ductway 31C on level _12_ of the Enterprise Mark VI.") and bizarre ceremonies ("And next up in the Masquerade is...").

{{{{shudder}}}}Oh, no thumbwax; for the love of Zod, no.

'thor-'valds - the god of independent thought. Totem animals: penguin, of course, but also the gnu.

Yam, don't forget the mouse and the gopher.

Me, I'm still trying to work out a Greek Geek Gang Game idea...

       Yes, master?

We have that now with Science from Darwin, Tesla, Einstein, Steven Hawking so on and so forth. Some Geeks even worship star trek actors like Leonard Nimoy.
