Finds where GPT got its info.
Especially if those sources can be used to challenge GPTs answers supplying you with contrary info.
As opposed to GPT this AI has access to online realtime info.
The bottom line is that it can easily be done

It is so great to hear about things I didn't know about, like Bing Chat, and like the plugins opening up ChatGPT to very specific web access . |
But none of this gets close to what I'm talking about. |
Chat GPT is different from Bing Chat which is simply presenting the search results and some info about them. |
GPT on the other hand builds some kind of "internal knowledge" according to material it was exposed to. |
So if I ask it about a prophecy from the city of Mari, it will quote an English translation of the original. |
It is very convincing when presented this way, but lacks giving you the option to follow up on it, which is what interests me. Not "what are online sources relating to prophecies of Mari" but rather "which sources were used by ChatGPT" for getting its knowledge on the prophecies of Mari. |
They don't and it seems cannot. The info was built with a statistical NN machine. What my bot does is surf through the info and try to find a source for each piece of information. |
I'm trying it now with GPT and bing chat. I'll tell you how it goes: |
I asked: what is the connection between add and being late all the time. |
GPT: ADD, which stands for Attention Deficit Disorder, is a neuro developmental disorder that affects the brain's ability to focus, organize, and manage time. yadda yadda yadda... |
Me: What is the source of that information about time management? |
Bing Chat: ... bla bla bla. bing.com |
Me: But where does bing.com get it from. |
Bing: Searching for: ADD Attention Deficit Disorder neuro developmental disorder brain focus organize manage time |
As a search engine, Bing bla bla bla... In this case, the information about ADD came from healthline.com |
Me: Can you quote healthline.com that says that? |
Bing: I apologize for any confusion. The information about ADD being a neuro developmental disorder that affects the brains ability to focus, organize, and manage time was not specifically from healthline.com. However, healthline.com does provide information on Attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)... bla bla bla |
Me: so where does info about time mangagement and ADD (not ADHD) come from? |
Bing: Searching for: ADD time management |
The information about time management and ADD (not ADHD) comes from various sources. For example, according to verywellmind.com, effective time management requires two skills that people with ADHD often naturally lack but can learn... |
Me: but that's adhd. I'm asking about add. |
Bing: I apologize for any confusion. ADD is an outdated term that is sometimes used to refer to the predominantly inattentive presentation of ADHD. While the term ADD is no longer used by medical professionals... bla bla. |
Thanks [Loris]! So it could be designated as BAKED, since it can be implemented in a few simple questions to Bing. |
On the other hand I still think a specific tool for finding the sources of these bot answers, one which doesn't give up on the bot's simple answer (like bing.com), is something that could be useful. |
The previous annotation was written as part of my ADD. I went off onto an interesting incursion following ADD and time management. |
Anyway, I meant to say: Let me see how hard it is to get that info using Bing Chat. And BINGO, in just a few iterations I was able to get to the actual source of info. So thanks, [Loris]! You're right it's baked. But I'm happy to know that. |
