Consider this: a fur lined kitchen sink. How is it practical, you ask? Exactly! It's not. Nothing says "I have so much money I don't need to use my kitchen sink" more than a kitchen sink that is lined with fur. Any use at all will make it look absolutely disgusting, so the only way to keep it looking
good is by never using it. If you're never going to use it, why on earth would you have a sink at all? Well you can't just NOT have a kitchen sink, duh.
We can take this one step further: removable fur sink liners. Once a fur lined kitchen sink becomes a recognized status symbol (as it inevitably will), people will want to fake them with removable liners. That way you can still use the sink, but cover it when people come over.
Perfect for washing your furry crockery.

Makes sense for a $70,000 room that people never use. |

Welcome to the Halfbakery, [mace]. |

What might actually be feasible is a duck feather lined sink. |
Feather lining would at least create the possibility of a
market for "sink preening" products. |

Put on your electron scanning goggles, turn up the magnification and all sinks are probably furry. |
Sometimes the fur goes on the outside of a vessel, as in
Meret Oppenheim's game changing work entitled "object". I
make a pilgrimage to see this piece every year, braving the
rest of the dismal trash in cargo cult land. (see link and
bow down) |

Ha! My sink is lined with otter fur. Beautiful AND
practical. |
//otter fur// [+] and seal, of course. |
Certainly better than having everything that goes into the sink come out smelling of wet dog. |
Up next: the wood-lined oven, the sealed washing machine, and the cardboard shoe. |
Muskrat fur also works well in cold, wet conditions. [link] |

A sink that improves when you wash your hair in it, thus
shampooing and conditioning; caution urged during dye
jobs. |

Indeed - you must save a lot on heating bills. Put cold water in,
take otter water out. Brilliant. |
This has gone further then most sink ideas. However, i doubt it
would do as well on the market if referred to as a hair lined sink
which i think it can be said many of us already own. |

For the reech and famoose, it's the pre-furred style. |
Nanotech materials may make it a reality. Who knows!. ( Nobody believes they are 'who' right?) |
