This device would be installed in walls all over one's house.
Sensors would detect anything the approximate size and
density of a person falling.* When detected a very quickly
stiffening foam would be sprayed under the lowest points of
the falling person until they come to a stop. The foam
would
dissolve into a mess after a few seconds and be nontoxic.
*Sensors include weight sensors under the floor,
ultrasonic sonar@, and/ or IR.
@I know this would
mess with pets.

you mean pets would mess with it. |

How robust is this? Is there any risk that I might damage my foam squirter in a fall? |
|
|
What happens if a second person falls a few seconds later, while the foam is dissolving? |

one falling person, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune. two falling people looks like carelessness (or alcohol is involved) |

This magic nontoxic foam would be made out of...? |

Cup your hands over your nose and mouth as you fall. There has to be a sign for that! |

... as well as Demolition Man there's also a scene in the Final Fantasy film
where they jump out of a plane and fire green goo cannons to the ground
which explode into a big blob which they safely fall into and walk out of without
needing parachutes. But I can't find a clip of it. |
