How about a pen with compressed foam inside. When you write, the foam comes out and expands, making inch thick or so writing.

Dont' know what you could use it for but you guys (and gals) will find something. (Maybe parties?)

       Excellent. One hand drawn 3D croissant coming at you.   

       sounds like the "puffy paint pens" from about 16 years ago. These didn't expand, but were 3D.
